Our Story

From Abandoned to Purposeful

I didn’t grow up with a blueprint for success. My mother was a prostitute, and the world I knew as a child was chaos, uncertainty, and survival. There were no bedtime stories, no safe places — just the noise of a life no kid should have to navigate.

One day she left me in a motel room and never came back. I was a child, alone, with nothing but the silence and a door that didn’t lock. That motel room became the dividing line of my life — the moment everything split into “before” and “after.” I was placed into foster care, passed between homes, and learned early that if I wanted to matter, I’d have to decide that for myself.

For years I carried those experiences like anchors. But somewhere along the way, I realized the weight I was dragging could become the foundation I was building on. The pain didn’t disappear — it transformed. It became fuel. It became clarity. It became the reason I started Significance Project: so that no one else has to sit in that motel room alone and believe the lie that their story is over.

I created Significance Project because I know — firsthand — that your hardest chapter is not your last chapter. Every person who walks through our doors carries something heavy. And every single one of them has the power to turn that weight into wings.

“We can get stuck standing at the scene of the accident in our lives and forget that we have purpose.”

Our Mission

What We Do

Significance Project uses the arts, education, and business innovation to heal, inspire, and equip individuals to rise from life’s hardest moments.

Our Vision

Where We’re Going

Impact 500,000 people by 2029.

“The things we experience are not just things that happen to us — they are things we can leverage to step into the next level of our lives.”

Our Framework

How We Work

A progressive model that takes individuals from learning to leading to teaching — building confidence and ownership at every stage.

1. Do

Build Your Foundation

Learn skills, complete real projects, and build your portfolio.

2. Lead

Own the Work

Own projects, manage teams, and earn royalties.

3. Teach

Multiply the Impact

Mentor new interns, lead workshops, and shape the program.

This model powers everything we do — from Purpose Brands to our publishing arm to our events.
